When you want a bite to eat to help you digest all the impressions of DOK#1’s design & crafts festival, take a seat under the awning at Brasserie Mundgott at Toldbod Plads. Whether you’re very hungry or just want a light snack, you’ll be sated here by dishes based on Danish cuisine, garnished with a modern twist. Tasty and tasteful without any hint of snobbishness.
If you’ve only got time for a quick sandwich whilst on the move because you want to get on with your shopping or are looking for a new experience for your senses, then keep an eye out for Nadia’s Sandwich. It shouldn’t be difficult to find, because the local sandwich chain is represented all over the city: in Østerågade (just up from the festival square), on Boulevarden and in Reberbansgade. The sandwich outlets also offer a great salad bar.
When a cup of coffee is what you need to renew your energy, stop at Penny Lane on Boulevarden, where a selection of delicious homemade fruit tarts, brownies and dessert cakes are served along with a good cup of coffee. The shop also offers wine, has its own bakery and sells a wealth of appetising specialities
